KS3 TRANSITION TEACHER + 2 SEN POINTS

Temporary for 1 Year in the First Instance

 

 

Required for September 2008, a well-qualified KS3 transition teacher to join this large and thriving school.  This post is ideally suited to a teacher with primary or middle school teaching experience wishing to work in the secondary context. The teacher appointed will work with a group of students, primarily from Year 7 but also from across the Key Stage on a day-to-day basis covering a large section of the curriculum including Literacy, Numeracy, ICT and Humanities subjects.

 

It is anticipated that specialist practical subjects such as PE and Design and Technology will be led by specialists in those areas. The teacher will have the additional support of teaching assistants assigned to the students within the group.

 

This is a new and exciting post for a creative and innovative teacher who is able to develop strong interpersonal relationships and support the personal, interpersonal and emotional development of young people operating at a level that is less than their chronological peers.

 

The person we appoint will be:  
•        an effective and innovative teacher with a passion for working with kinaesthetic learners;
•        extremely well-motivated;
•        renowned for their strength in pastoral care;
•        able to share effective ways of managing children with learning and emotional difficulties;
•        someone able to develop positive and supportive relationships with parents;
•        someone able to use ICT effectively in their teaching to motivate students.
 

Applications would be considered from current Bradford Schools’ staff on a secondment basis (minimum of 1 year) subject to prior approval from your current school.
