Borrowing is easy in the LRC. We use biometric
technology with our automated issue system, which allows you
to borrow using your thumb! This means that you do not need
to remember to bring a card or journal, just your thumb. The
system is completely secure as it does not keep a record of
your thumbprint, but instead allocates a number to your thumb
and this retrieves your record from the system. In fact, your
borrowing records are even more secure as no one else can have
access without your thumb!
So when you’re ready, bring your resources to the
counter, and we’ll do the rest.
You can borrow up to 3 items for 2 weeks at a time, and
you can renew items for longer periods if you need a little
more time to finish your book.
Our reservation system allows you to request books that
have already been borrowed by another pupil. So you don’t
need to worry about missing the latest Harry Potter book!
