Understanding the mass media is now increasingly recognised as an
important part of education and many schools, universities and colleges
include Media Studies in their curriculum.

This course puts almost equal weight on assessing candidates’ abilities in critical analysis, media production and theory based knowledge. 

The course takes as its object of study key concepts, such as audience
representation, ideology, narrative, as well as studying in depth the
products, practices and institutions of the media; film, video, newspapers, 
magazines, photographs, music, performance and their various
combinations; cinema, broadcasting (television and radio), the press, new
production, advertising, publishing.
