Text Box: The Go Live scheme provides opportunities for students to gain Occupational
qualifications and develop skills necessary for the working environment.

The course will run over one year and will consist of two parts:

Learners choose an occupational area that interests them and learn with a training provider for two days a week .  The occupational areas will probably include Animal Care, Business and Admin, Care, Construction, Engineering, Furniture Restoration, Hair, Hospitality and Catering, Motor Vehicle Studies, Sport and Recreation and the Uniformed Services.  The qualification achieved will depend on the occupational area being studied and will usually be at Level 1.

Three days in school will provide opportunities for the learner to develop their employability skills in Communication, Numeracy and ICT, all essential
whatever occupational area the student wishes to enter.  Learners will also
develop their career organisation and management skills as well as other life skills.  The curriculum and qualifications to be taught will be personalised to the particular needs of each student.  Learners will take a number of qualifications again usually at Level 1 and they will also have opportunities to partake in work experience.  The course should equip students to gain access to full
apprenticeships in their areas of interest.
